The second event in the National Trailquest League will visit Cannock Chase on 7 March. As well as being a deservedly popular riding area, the Chase also benefits from having a Trailquest-specific 1:30 000 scale map available. The map is maintained by local orienteering club Walton Chasers, who are also running the event.

The organisers say:

“Expect control sites on remote singletracks you may never have ridden on before and ever changing vistas from woodland to open heath, the accurate map making this complex path network a challenge to navigate through. A couple of controls in the dense residential streets of Hednesford will also add to the mix as you move through the various areas that make up the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.”

The event will be based at the cafe at the Cannock Chase Enterprise Centre. As well as the three-hour main event there’ll be a two-hour novice event. If you need more, the club’s also holding a foot orienteering event on the Sunday.
