This year the British National XC Mountain Bike championships, including XC and DH action, will be hosted at Innerleithen, Scotland, on 18/19 July.
Racing is open to all, you don’t need a British Cycling race licence for the Sport and Open categories, but if you want to compete in the championship race where UCI points will be on offer for the fastest riders, you’ll need a licence. There’s also an impressive £1000 of prize money and kit to be dished out.
The event will also see the Descent Gear/MSC Bikes DH championships, and the organisers are offering riders taking part in that race a £5 ride in the Saturday XC fun race – though you might want to bring another bike to ride if you do take up that offer.
Online entry for the XC available on www.entrycentral.com. Closing date for championship races is 19 June, but if you want to enter either the Sport or Fun race, you’ve got until 12 and 17 July respectively.
