There seems to be a snootyness between bmxers and mountain bikers that proclaims we cannot share parts. Well i went down my local bycycle retailer yesterday and brought some bmx pedals that would fit my STX-RC cranks. The pedals are brilliant and are DMR looky likeys but for a fraction of the price £16.00 to be pricise. However when i went up the shops with my newly spruced up bike a bmxer came over and mocked my chosen choice of pedals.
Well i coulden’t resist taking the mick out of his ignorance towards his DX brakes. Well one thing led to another and we ended up at the local jump site having a contest to prove which style of bike was the best. Well in the end neigther was and we both went away looking pretty silly in front of the ramblers as we argued on the way back.
There is a message to be learnt it doesn’t matter which style of riding you do there’s no superior model. Also dont be afraid to mix and match mtb and bmx components as both have there qualitys for example take my pedals most of the mtb pedals are bmx based anyway.
I also suggest any bmxer looking for wicked high priced flatties look out for Dave Cullinans Fatboy pedals for a cool (last time i looked) £99…
