There’s a mountain bike double-header in Black Park, Buckinghamshire, this weekend with the Night of the Knobbly Tread on Saturday and the Black Park Duathlon on Sunday.
With Halloween fast approaching, the Night of the Knobbly Tread is a short night-time cross-country race featuring a fun event for inexperienced riders and an open event for well-versed racers.
The fun race starts at 7pm and takes in three laps of a three-mile circuit, with the open event (7.50pm) completing five loops. Sponsorship from Exposure lights and Party lights should see the prize winners going away with some nice goodies.
Advance entry closes at midnight tonight (Wednesday) and costs £15 for fun racers and £17 for open racers. You can also enter on the day for £18 (fun) or £20 (open).
Meanwhile, the Black Park Duathlon is contested over a three-mile run, 12-mile mountain bike ride and then a further three-mile run to finish.
The mountain bike element will be on a very similar course to the previous night’s race, while the run will take place on a separate 1.5-mile off-road loop.
Advance entry is closed but solo entrants can secure a spot on the day for £25, with pairs costing £30.
