The summer of the Superenduro Powered by SRAM continues with the fifth PRO stage in Sauze d’Oulx. For one race only we will use a different format to our usual PRO races, with the return of the Supermountain format! The mass-start race will be the weekends climax.
On the programme are eight special stages in the heart of the Alpi Bike Resort, which are nearly all reached by chairlift. Sitting just a short drive from Turin and near the French border, Alpi is the largest bike park in Italy.
Sauze will be the penultimate stage of the PRO season, which up until now has seen a different winner at every round. Who will be the rider to join Clementz, Barel, Ducci and Lupato on the list of this years winners? With the third round of the Enduro World Series just a couple of weeks before in Les Deux Alpes, we are expecting a strong foreign showing at this race.
The event will start Friday 19 July with inscriptions open from 13:00 to 18:30, followed by an apertif and party! The real racing starts 8:30 Saturday July 20 in Sauze d’Oulx with seven special stages finishing in Sestriere at the Col Basset. Riders will have 30 minutes to work in their bikes and then bikes will be locked in parc fermé until the next morning. On Sunday 21 July racing starts at 9:30 in Sestriere with a special stage on the trails there. After that racers will return to Sauze to prepare for the grand finale that will be the Supermountain race.
