10 More in Moray is the third largest event of its kind in Scotland and attracts riders of all abilities from across Britain, when it rolls into Milnes High School in Fochabers in the North East of Scotland on 22 August.
Already more than 300 riders have entered joining another 1500 that have already taken part in the two previous Benromach Three Tens events at Fort William in Lochaber and Kirroughtree, Dumfries and Galloway.
Laid on is a 10 mile course which includes a mixture of forestry roads and single track with new trails and the natural sections high in the woods above the Gulley Monster, which proved such a huge success in 2008.
Participants can compete as a solo or relay teams of two, three or four. The race is run on an endurance format with teams and individuals competing to see who can complete the most laps in 10 hours. However for those wanting to give this racing a shot, not every rider is expected to stay on the course for the full 10 hours.
Frazer Coupland, spokesman for No Fuss Events, says: “We are delighted to announce that 312 people have already registered for the Benromach 10 More In Moray, a twenty percent rise on 2008 figures at this stage. There is still plenty of time to register and we are confident that at least another fifty riders will sign up between now and next weekend. This race is the most fun you can legally have on two wheels.”
There is still time for riders to enter this year’s event. Anyone over 16 years of age, from those who fancy a bit of a challenge and a different form of fun riding event, to weekend warriors to the serious mountain bike racer can enter, and with prizes for different categories and many spot prizes you may even come home with something to show for your efforts.
As with all No Fuss Events Benromach 10 More in Moray promises to be a real family day out. Extra activities, entertainment and music for all are planned. Race registration and pre-race party commence on the Friday evening, in the luxurious Christies Garden Centre in Fochabers. Christies are also providing the outside catering for the 2009 event. Headline sponsors Benromach will also be having a tasting session the garden centre on Friday night.
Seeing out the Benromach Three Tens Series in style the overall series winners (entering the three races) will be announced after 10 More in Moray. One lucky rider will win a once in a lifetime trip to compete in the famous Moonshine Trail in New Zealand early in 2010.
