BikeSoup.co.uk and Gravity Components have joined forces to sponsor downhill brothers Arran and George Gannicott.
Both Arran, current British junior champion, and George, 2009 British juvenile champion, will race in the 2011 Halo British Downhill Series.
Bikesoup Gravity riders will be running distinctive acid green Transition TR450’s with Gravity cranks and finishing kit, plus Marzocchi 888 Ti forks provided by Windwave, with fi’zi:k saddles completing the look.
The team will be managed by BikeSoup’s Antony Auty and Anne Powys-Keck of Saville Communications.
“It is important to me that young talent is properly supported and natural talent allowed to flourish,” said Auty. “I’ve kept abreast of Arran and George’s success over the last three or four years at national level and am excited by how far the boys can go on the international race scene.
“I am really grateful to the brands that have committed to the team for 2011 and cannot wait for the season to start. The first race is March 20, round one of Halo BDS at Nant
Gwrtheyrn and we hope to see you there.”
Arran, in his first year at elite level, is looking to gain world-class experience in the UCI World Cup series, while George has set his sights on the Halo youth title.
“I am really proud to be representing Bikesoup Gravity this season and love riding the Transition TR450 – I think that I’m in love,” said Arran.
“It feels great to have factory support from Gravity and fi’zi:k, and I hope my focus on winning this season will give me some great results. A huge thanks to Ant and Anne for putting the team together.”
George added: “I’m totally stoked to be racing for the Bikesoup Gravity team, this is such an amazing opportunity for me and Arran, and I look forward to winning in 2011.”
