American internet retailer Airborne have finalised a deal that puts them straight into Halfords 50 best performing shops. The titanium specialists already have a cracking reputation for value for money – they racked up best Road bike of the year in Cycling Plus magazine for 2001 – and the good news is they’ll be even cheaper from the big H.
The range centres around high value titanium framesets, ranging from £505 for the base “Corsair” to the “Lucky Strike” (probably around £8-900) and the soon to be arriving “Paka Wallup” softail. They’ll also be selling the full road bike range too.
On the web you can then custom specify the bikes from a wide range of kit, ready for delivery in ten days. We haven’t got details about how this will translate to the shops yet, but some complete bikes in stock and a similar ‘custom order’ set up would seem the smart move.
