With the prestigious World Police and Fire Games coming to Northern Ireland this August, Chain Reaction Cycles and Dromara Cycling Clubs are delighted to announce that the Games will now feature a number of “Open Races” throughout the weekend. Providing an opportunity to be a part of this amazing event, it is hoped that the addition of these races to the weekend will attract competitors from across Ireland. Held at the newly opened Rostrevor Mountain Bike Trails, two XC and a DH race will take place on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th August.

Friday 2nd August: Practice day for all events
0900-1700 Registration for DH and XC
1000 Race brief (Volunteers, marshals and competitors)
1030-1200 On foot inspection for downhill (no bikes in upllift vehicle)
1300-1700 Downhill practice (last uplift at 1600)
1100-1700 Cross Country Practice 1700 Race Meeting
Saturday 3rd August: Cross Country Race & Practice day for Downhill
0830-1400 Registration
0900 -1000 Cross Country Practice
1000 WPFG Cross Country Race
10.45 Youth races
1200 WPFG Podium
1215 Ulster XC support race 1
1345 Ulster XC podium
1400 Ulster XC support race 2
1600 Podium followed by race meeting if required
1000-1700 Downhill Practice (last uplift at 1600)
Sunday 4th August: Downhill Race

XC RACES
Kilbroney Forest Park the 4th Round of the Ulster XC MTB Series will be staged on Saturday 3rd August. The track is a mixture of existing natural singletrack, fire road, and trail centre singletrack. The lap is approx 4km and depending on your category each race will last 1.5 – 2hrs approx. With categories for everyone from under 8’s to Seniors there’s room for everyone to line up at the start line!

DH RACE
Having hosted the Rostrevor Mountain Bike Festival earlier this year, the technical and testing “On the Pulse” downhill track is sure to provide another great race! You can check out the course preview in the video above.
