In response to many road riders desire for wider tyres Michelin have introduced a wider version of the Michelin Pro 4 Endurance tyre.
The new version of the tyre, which will be 700 x 28, features dual-compound tread, which is designed to give the tyre greater protection against wear as well as improved grip on cornering. Michelin also claim the tyre is 40% more resistant to punctures that its main competitor, after they added a reinforcing layer.
“We know that a larger contact patch to provide a more comfortable ride and protection against punctures while not sacrificing performance is important to riders” says Yohann Leblanc, Michelin’s Sales and Marketing Manager for North America.
This new tyre is only currently available in North America, but we will be keeping our ears to the ground regarding its availability this side of the pond.
