Destination: Cwm Rhaeadr, Nr Llandovery, Wales
One seven kilometre trail in the middle of nowhere and no facilities doesn’t initially appear very appealing. However, if you’re riding at Brechfa, 20 miles to the southwest, and want a bit of end of day fun, it’s well worth a visit.
How to get there
Follow signs for Cilycwm from the A482 or A483 (near Llandovery). Once in Cilycwm village continue north towards Llyn Brianne Reservoir until signs for Cwm Rhaeadr are seen.
Sat Nav: SA20 0TL
Facilities
Lots of trees, waterfalls and you might even see a Pine Marten
Trails
Just the one. It goes up, uppety up on fire roads and then it’s a super-fast bermy, pumpy and jumpy grin-fest on what can best be described as a BMX track through the forest. The red grading is about right and there isn’t anything that’s not rollable. I guarantee once won’t be enough and you’ll be well glad you made the effort.
Nearest bike shop
Nowhere super close but Summit Cycles in Aberystwyth is your best bet, albeit 27 miles away www.summitcycles.co.uk
