The exciting new Viewranger Trail Share Competition is your chance to share your favourite trails with everyone and win some cool prizes along the way.
Mountain biking is a sport built on exploring the countryside and discovering new trails, and sharing them with friends. And that’s the idea behind our new Viewranger Trail Share Competition, which rewards you for simply sharing trails with the readers of Bikemagic.
ViewRanger is an app that turns your smartphone into a GPS computer displaying Ordnance Survey maps. my.ViewRanger.com is a new website that works alongside the app making it easy to plan a route and find and share trails.
And it’s the new website that we’re going to use to allow you to share your trails with us, with three competitions over the following summer months. Three chances to win, just for sharing your routes with us. At the end of each month, we’ll judge the trails uploaded to my.ViewRanger.com and the best will win a bunch of cool prizes.
How it works
Your off-road route, and it can be one you’ve ridden and recorded, or one you’ve plotted manually through your computer or phone, needs to be uploaded to my.ViewRanger.com.
The route needs to be one in the UK to be considered, and the trail should be tagged with BikeMagicTSC. You can also share the link to/title of your trail through the Bikemagic forum or tweeted with #BikeMagicTSC.
The closing date is September 30. Get trail riding and sharing.
To be in with a chance of winning, each trail will be judged on the distance, amount of elevation, technical sections, title and description. Additional judging points will be given to entries that include photo’s of points on the trail.
The prizes
The Gold prize includes a Viewranger app for your compatible phone loaded with 1:50K mapping for the entire UK (Eng, Wales, Scotland & NI), 1 x powermonkey-eXplorer solar/secondary battery and an AQUAPAC Stormproof™ Padded Drybag to keep your phone dry and protected.
But that’s not all, the winner each month will get to ride their winning route with the BM Editor and it’ll be filmed to feature on Mpora.com.
Silver prize is a Viewranger app for compatible phone plus your choice of your 1:50K mapping region (ie Eng or Wales or Scot or NI), and an AQUAPAC Small Armband Case.
The Bronze prize is a Viewranger app with your choice of your 1:50K mapping region (ie Eng or Wales or Scot or NI) and a AQUAPAC Small Stormproof™ Pouch.

The Trail must be original, by entering you are confirming that you have created this trail and not copied it from any prior published source. By entering it, you are giving permission to ViewRanger/BikeMagic to publish and promote the trail, its description and images.
The Trail must be legally accessible across public land.
The Trail must include a title and a description entered into the information section and price set as free. The judges will assess the Trail based on both the Trail course and the quality of its description.
