A packed car park was evidence of the huge turnout the final round of the Merida Brass Monkey series attracted, on a day that dawned bright and cold.
A chill wind was whisking across the sandy ground of the Hungry Hill venue, which offered some 600 people a tough 8 mile course, complete with several energy draining climbs. Highlights included some brilliant singletrack, flicking and whipping this way and that through the densely packed woodland.
The unpredictable British weather continued apace, with exceptional conditions seeing the course almost completely dry, just a few squidgy sections to dampen toes.
We’ll have a full report from Joolze Dymond and plenty of photos this week.
