Brighton Big Dog photos and results

Under a clear blue sky, Ian Leitch rode to a popular win in the Brighton Big Dog solo race held in Stanmer Park, Brighton, holding off some really strong competition to defend the title he won last year.

Lisa Kamphausen of the successful WXC Mountain Bike Team UK stormed to victory in the women’s solo race, holding off Emma Cutler but just under two minutes.

In the hotly contested pairs male the fast GO GO GADGET & HIS GRANDAD Merida UK duo were just two quick for anyone else, holding off the pairings of Jody and Jamie and Mule Bar – Southfork, in second and third place respectively, by a slim margin. Their lap times of between 32 and 35 minutes were highly impressive.

Ant White notched up another impressive event win this year in taking the Solo Vet Male win with an 11 minute lead over second placed Nik Pullen.

Event sponsors Kinesis Morvelo proved they’re no slouches in taking the Team Male, a three person format, race, with nine laps in 5hrs 33mins. GEAREDBIKES.CO.UK finished second also on nine laps, while a lap down on them was TEAM ROSE BLANN in third.

Red Kite Cycles/Ghost Bikes dominated in the Team Mixed class, finishing 26 minutes clear of GearedBikes.co.uk with added mixed nuts in second place and WDMBC/SPECIALISED/RRP/beyond in third. Racing in this category was close, with the four top teams each completing 8 laps.

And the Bikemagic team? Well we finished a respectable (I like to think anyway) 14th in the men’s pair race.
