Under the blazing sunshine in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa Britain’s Tracy Moseley opened her 2011 UCI World Cup DH account with an resounding victory. Fionn Griffiths made it a British 1-2 victory, while France’s Emmeline Ragot rounded out the podium in third.
Tracy started the weekend in South Africa by setting the fastest qualifying time. Come race day and Tracy posted the quickest time over the second half of the course, winning by 0.288 seconds with a time of 4:56.166.
There was more good news for British downhilling as Manon Carpenter took the Junior title, placing an impressive eight overall.
