We’ve been hearing rumours about it for ages, the suspense building to unbelievable levels over the last few months. But this week Pivot have finally put us out of our misery, the Mach 5.7 Carbon is here. Woot!
Details are sparse at the month, but it’s clear the carbon version of the Mach 5.7 will be based very closely on the bike it shares its name with. That means 145mm of travel from the DW-Link suspension platform but huge weight savings over the aluminium frame, in the region of nearly 300g – nearly half a pound.
It looks like the use of carbon has been extensive, with both the front triangle and swingarm being moulded in carbon. Even the rocker linkage is beautifully rendered in the black stuff too, completing what has to be one of the best looking bikes to come along for quite a while.
More details when we get them.
