Eurobike 2008: Report 14

Trek

It’s all change at Trek. Since it released the new Fuel with its reconfigured suspension platform, the US company has turned up the development and its racing ahead with a pretty impressive range of bikes. New for 2009 is the Top Fuel, which will spearhead Trek’s plans to dominate the trails and race circuit next year.

Trek’s latest carbon hardtail, the Elite 9.9 SSL

Extended seat tube borrowed from the company’s road bikes

Trek have adopted tapered headtubes full heartedly

Trek’s Top Fuel 9.9SS L – the 100mm carbon frame reportedly weighs just 2027g (4.47lb)

Fuel EX 9.9 adopts a more conventional approach to the Top Fuel, but still boasts much – including the integrated bottom bracket

And catering for the longer travel crowd is the Remedy, based on the same platform as the Fuel range

Trek threw in this crowd-puller – belt-driven fixed street bike

Trek’s accessory arm Bontrager is making big moves into the clothing market

Lots of white on Bontrager matching stems and handlebars

Bontrager is hoping 2009 will be the year its range of clothing takes off – and there’s something for all tastes

Yeti

Wow! Yeti’s new Seven provides 7” of travel and features no drive-side chainstay

Swingarm and linkage are made from carbon, while it’s aluminium for the front triangle

The AS-Rc…

Commencal

It’s been a while since we first announced news of Commencal’s carbon hardtail, but this was our first sight of a Skin built up

A lightweight spec ensured it weighed next to nothing – the scales made it 7.92kg

Lots of mud clearance through the seatstays
