Eurobike 2008: Report 1

Welcome to Eurobike. It may be raining outside the several massive halls that Eurobike occupies, but inside there’s the warm glow of the first unveiling of the hottest new products due for release next year.

Suffice to say, the huge scale of the place makes it tricky (and not to mention hard on the editorial feet) to see everything all at once, so here’s just a few snippets of the more interesting products spotted in the first couple of halls.

BeOne are hoping its new carbon hardtail frame might make more of an impact on the UK scene

There’s three models covering different price points all based on the same 1.04kg frame.

This is the most expensive, and with all that XTR hanging of it the weight is somewhere in the region of 8.55kg

Baum Bicycles, an Australian manufacturer had this titaninium hardtail on display, loaded with lightweight components

Corraro had this ti hardtail, available with either 26” or 29” wheels.

Also from Carraro was the Rampart, an all carbon XC full susser.

Light and everything, but plenty of heft in the dropouts

Merlin’s 5.25 uses a suspension design that looks a bit like the back of an Ellsworth, but isn’t.

A Fox shock nestles beneath the long linkage and bracing strut that the rocker pivots on

Syncros always have some nice new components on display every year, and didn’t fail us, with these interestingly painted stems and handlebars

How about this silver chromed bash ring for a bit of sparkle on your bike? Also available in more subtle black
