Cycle 2008 round-up

New Zealand brand 2Stage specialises in twin-shock bikes – this is its HammerSchmidt-equipped all-mountain bike.

Not to be outdone, Corsair also has a double-shocker in the range – the big coil shock does most of the work and there’s a secondary air shock tucked down ahead of the BB.

All-new clothing brand Bspoke launched its range of non-bikey cycling kit, targeted at the ever-growing ranks of urban commuters. The idea is to produce functional clothing using technical fabrics but to end up with something you won’t feel foolish showing up in an office wearing.

There are women’s and men’s lines, with the darker-coloured kit having “stealth” reflective trim that doesn’t show up at all until light hits it.

Legendary road brand Colnago has done MTBs for years, but look out for a bit of a profile-raising push in the UK market this year, including a race team.

Finally OS mapping makes it on to a Garmin GPS device – the Oregon series also features a touch-screen interface and long battery life.

Eco-conscious lubricant manufacturer Green Oil has expanded its range massively. Here’s its cleaner and degreaser…

…and there’s also grease and a concentrated degreaser for chains.

Pure Racing is the company behind Superstar Components, which is aiming to get its gear into bike shops as well as selling direct. This is its Cobra adjustable seatpost, which claims no slop, easy servicing and reliability at a sensible weight.

Also on offer are these new Aerozine SL cranks, promising XTR weight at XT prices

We rode the new Titus X Carbon at Interbike and rather liked it – frames will be £2,150 in the UK. This one was built up with pretty sensible parts and still came in under 23lb.

Also making its first UK appearance was the production model of Yeti’s startling-looking ASR-7 – 7in of travel from a very distinctive carbon fibre back end.
