British winters are never as bad as we fear, with many trails remaining nicely dry at the time of writing. It all makes tyre choice a little trickier, but a good all-round tyre that can cope with a range of conditions, from mud to dryer trails, sounds like a good choice to us. Such as the Continental Slash which, with an open tread pattern easily clears mud and is well suited to damp trails without getting all in a flap when they dry out.
