Bioracer is a Belgium-based brand with strong roots in the road cycling and cyclo-cross race scene, from club level to professional national teams. And being based in the unforgiving landscape of Belgium they know a thing or two about keeping warm in cold weather.

The Stretch Fabric of the Wind Cleaver Visor hat here is thing between the fingers and as a result slips underneath a helmet without having to readjust the straps and retention system. Despite being as thin as it is though it does a sterling job of keeping the head and, with the low sides, ears warm.

There’s a small peak at the front, a nod to the company’s roadie roots. All under helmet hats I have tried in the past have always been an unhappy compromise, but this hat was unnoticeable during my first couple of test rides apart from the fact my head was warm, but the fabric is breathable enough to avoid overheating.
