- Fox Reflex Full Finger Glove
Fox is well known for making good quality gloves, and within their range of 21 different designs, there’s something for all tastes. The Reflex is a lightweight full-finger glove, a favourite style with the Bikemagic crew.
With a full stretchy mesh back the Reflexes keep your mitts cool – the only deviation from the mesh is a terry towel covered thumb. The palm is made from Clarino, and perforated for breathability. Gel pads are placed both at the bases of the fingers and a large section of gel padding at the base of the palm, placed to relieve pressure on the ulnar nerve. An additional panel of Clarino lines the inside of the thumb to prevent the wear and tear that can occur here. Finishing details include the embossed logo and sticky details on the fore fingers for better grip on the brake levers.
The best feature on the Reflex glove is the lack of a Velcro closing tab. Instead the stretchiness of the mesh keeps the gloves snug on your hands. Granted, pulling them on and off takes a little more wrestling, but the fit is exceptional once on. Four sizes are available in either black or red.
For the girls reading this, Fox produce a women-specific Reflex in three sizes and two colours, charcoal or cream. For the guys, choose from black or red.
Ups and downs
Positives: Light, comfortable, fantastic fit, good price
Negatives: Takes a little longer to get into
We like thin lightweight gloves, and the Fox ones have instantly become the first ones we reach for on a ride. They’re very similar to the Specialized BG Ridge gloves, and are indeed the same price, but the better fit pushes them ahead. It’s too soon to comment on longevity, but they held up OK for 12 straight hours of CLIC24.
