This one’s straight off the motocross track. Shift is a line of clothing that’s owned by the people who make Fox. It’s a kind of anti-Fox clothing for the people who don’t want to follow that bandwaggon but get on another. It has different designers and stuff, but the same big guys still get your money. It’s a bit like the mountainbike business. We’ll tell you one day how many companies and factories there actually are, and how many times you’re just being set up by marketing people competing against each other. Who are actually the same person. If you see what I mean.Politics and two-faced-ness notwithstanding, this is one hot-stuff glove.
Used in anger for LOTS of rides over the last few months, I’ve been really impressed with it’s fit, comfort and durability. It’s been washed more
times than you might actually think, and it’s holding up great. No loose stitching, no baggy saggy bits. It has stretched a little and now is one of the most comfortable gloves I’ve got. All that plastic padding probably isn’t needed, but, heck, it probably makes me go faster downhill or something.
Good with Gripshift units, good with triggers, good with brakelevers and normal grips. Good on a motocross bike too actually, but it’s been a while.
I got mine from the nice boys at Stif, whose web address I’d better not put here or I’ll get my head kicked in by the people that pay money to advertise on this site. People like Singletrack probably sell them anyhow. I don’t know. [This bit will get edited out soon, I guess :-)]
