We know that not everybody can race as fast downhill as Steve Peat, or go massive like Thomas Vanderham does on a regular basis, but there is hope for the rest of us. You just need practice and some pointers. The former is up to you, but to help out with the latter we’ve got five copies of the Fundamentals DVD and five Dirt Magazine subscriptions to give away.
Fundamentals is a mountain bike technique video. From the creators of Earthed and featuring a line-up with such illustrious names as Nathan Rennie, Greg Minnaar, Eric Carter and many more, advice about cornering, bunny hopping and every other aspect of riding faster you can think of is covered in a friendly and down to earth style. It doesn’t matter if you’re not an aspiring DH racer, anyone who just wants to ride better and faster will learn something.
And in the bonus section is an in-depth guide to building your bike from a box of bits and then keeping it running sweetly. If your suspension needs tuning, an easy to understand guide will have your rebound dialled for your next ride. It’s a great DVD – just read our review.
Dirt Magazine is the number one choice for people who favour gravity-induced riding, or indeed defying the laws of gravity. Now 50 issues old, the magazine brings news, reports and photos from the cutting edge of the sport.
The Challenge
We want you to get creative and take a photo, and prove to us why you deserve/need the Fundamentals DVD. It might be a photo of you crashing, a gruesome injury, or whatever you think will convince us you need this DVD.
We’ve created an album in the BM Gallery for entries, so upload them there* – you’ve got until 15 April (we’re giving you another week to win these great prizes).
* You might find that the image uploader misbehaves – if your image uploads but the filename doesn’t appear on the form, just copy and paste it in before you press Submit…
