Recently we reviewed RAM Bikes’s XCII Comp and pronounced it “incredible value for money”. And it occurred to us that the bike’s 100mm travel full-suspension frame could certainly do some higher-end componentry justice. Indeed, RAM offers an XCII frameset so that you can build one up however you wish.

At £475 for the frame, the XCII is already great value. But you can’t beat completely free – if our calculations are correct, paying £0 for something means that you’re getting infinite value for money, and it doesn’t get much better than that.

Legally acquiring things for no money is often challenging, though. Which is where we come in.
