A moderately grubby Trek Liquid – we’re sure you’ve got dirtier bikes than this…
We fear that the summer of 2006 may have drawn to a close, which means that the evil spectre of frequent bike washing is likely to rear its ugly head once more. Thankfully, though, the benevolent people at Dirt Worker have flowed us one of their spiffy 12V-powered portable pressure washers (see right) to give away to a lucky BM reader, thus making the whole cleaning chore somewhat less of a, well, chore…
So what do you have to do to get your hands on this most excellent labour-saving device? As ever, we like to give free gear away to deserving causes, so we’re after pictorial evidence of the grim state of your bikes. Take a digi pic of your bike in the filthiest condition you can muster, and upload it to the Bikemagic gallery – make sure it goes into the “Filthy Bikes” gallery. You’ve got until 9 October, we’ll pick a winner during the following week.
Go ride, get grubby, get snapping!
What’s a Dirt Worker, anyway?
The Dirt Worker is a jolly clever bit of kit that falls firmly into the “why didn’t I think of that?” camp. It’s a self-contained portable pressure washer, and just the thing for anyone who puts their bike in the car to ride. Fill the built-in water tank, stash the Worker in the boot of your car and go ride. When you get back, plug the Dirt Worker into your car’s lighter socket, connect the hose and spray the fresh dirt off your bike. It hasn’t got the oomph to shift dried-on stuff, but it won’t blast all the grease out of your bearings either. Dirt Workers retail for £79.99, but we’ve got one to give away to a lucky BM reader…
