Italian company Scapin isn’t the most well known brand in mountain biking, which is a shame as they make some of the loveliest bikes we’ve tested (some years ago now we hasten to add). For 2012 the company is getting bang up to date, launching their first 29er.
The Oraklo 29er features a full carbon frame with a monocoque construction and using uni-directional Toray T700 carbon. There’s modern touches like post mount disc tabs, internal cable routing, a tapered head tube, press-fit bottom bracket, and a low weight of just 1.25kg (2.75lbs).
The press release add news of the Scapin Factory Team: “Scapin is also proud to announce the partnership with the Mtb Factory Team that takes now the name of SCAPIN FACTORY TEAM. The athletes will compete with Scapin ORAKLO 29” bikes, but also with other models, such as VYRUS and MURDOK. For the team’s training, Scapin is offering the BLAKE 12K model.”
At the signing of the contract, the team manager of the Scapin Factory Team, Stefano Gonzi, said: “I am very happy with this new union. Of course we do not deny the previous collaborations. In Scapin company I found a professional and helpful staff. This will help us to achieve our common goals!”
