According to industries leading hot gossip site – www.Bikebiz.co.uk’ – Pashley’s ‘Mail Star’ bike is going public as the ‘Pronto’ workbike.
With a Handbuilt unisex frame in two sizes, front and rear load carrying capacity, 3 or 5 speed hub gears and weatherproof hub brakes it’s built totally bombproof to survive the day-in-day-out abuse of letter lugging. You can even spec. a plastic tub or traditional wicker basket for the front!
Pashley reckon it’ll be great for anyone heaving cargo around by pedal power, particularly large sites, with several dispersed workshops or offices, but it also sounds just right for my mum and her groceries.
With prices from £400 + it’s a serious investment though. The Pronto press release claims; “It saves time (and therefore money) when used by employees moving between different offices or locations. Journey times are typically cut by 70 percent.” They are also keen to point out that this bike conforms to proper Health & Safety requirements.
This new wagon lines up alongside the already intriguing range of Dutch
style roadsters, tiny wheeled off road Moultons, cruisers, tricycles and
Trials bikes. Go see them all at www.pashley.co.uk.
