Norco unveiled the new Range at Eurobike in Gemany earlier this month. The bike replaces the LT 6 and is a complete overhaul of that all-mountain platform, with a new tubeset and updated suspension and geometry.
The Range uses Norco’s A.R.T. (Advanced Ride Technology), an evolution of the company’s four-bar FSR suspension platform and delivers 160mm at the rear wheel.
A.R.T is claimed to offer several benefits over the LT 6, which have been achieved by moving the pivot further forward and lower. This increases sensitivity of the shock while the increased chain growth gives a greater anti-squat to reduce suspension bob.
The frame has been given a decent makeover, with a complete new tubeset that makes plenty of use of hydroforming to achieve the swooping lines of the top and downtube. The headtube is a mandatory tapered unit, 1 1/8in-to-1.5in, and the rocker linkage is one-piece forged and welded for increased stiffness over the LT 6.
Out back the axle is a Syntace X-12 rear axle system and there’s post mounts for the disc brake, and a replaceable hander with a shear bolt. The top tube has two clips for a dropper seatpost cable.
