BM reported on the 2009 bikes from UK brand Genesis only recently, but the eagle-eyed will have noticed the absence of any news of the iO ID bike. Well fear not, here’s news of the 2009 Genesis iO ID.
When released the iO ID proved such a runaway success that it wasn’t long before Genesis had sold every single bike, so the biggest news from Genesis is that it’ll be making more available when the 2009 model hits the shops later this year.
Plentiful supply aside, changes to the actual bike are few and far between. Which isn’t such a bad thing. There’s the same Reynolds 520 frameset, now with a nice new coat of paint and fresh decals, and Shimano’s Alfine 8sp rear hub, now driven by a Shimano Deore HTII 36t crank and bashguard. A RockShox Recon Race Air fork takes care of bumps and Deore 575 brakes scrub off speed. Alex XD-Lite disc rims, Deore front hub and Continental Mountain King 2.2” tyres are as last year.
Price is £999.99, with sizes 16, 17.5, 19, 20.5″ available.
