GT Bicycles has just shipped seven very special mountain bikes to Sydney for each of it’s riders competing in the Olympic games.
Pretty isn’t it? Trouble is, if there
was a Brit bike like this, everyone would think it was ridden by an NF nutter.
The bikes are hand built 2001 Zaskar Team hardtail frames equipped with RockShox SIDney forks and Shimano components. The bikes were hand made by the GT product development crew in Santa Ana and custom painted by Class Act in Portland, Oregon. Each bike has a colours and graphics scheme designed to match the uniform and flag of the rider’s country. These one of a kind bikes will not be made available to the public.
“GT is proud to custom paint these bikes for the athletes to represent each of their countries and we created these bikes to celebrate their participation in the Olympics” says Andrew Herrick, Marketing Director of GT Bicycles.
Team GT members Alison Dunlap (USA), Rolland Green (CAN), Laurence Leboucher (FRA), Roel Paulissen (BEL) will team up with three other GT sponsored riders, Anne Trombley (USA), Erica Green (South Africa), and Rob Woods (AUS) for the race in Sydney. With a team like this you can expect some results, watch closely on September 23-24 to see the GT colors in action.
