In a plush air conditioned hotel in Park City, Utah, Cannodale pulled the covers of their all-new Trigger, the highlight of their 2013 product range.

The Trigger is a slimmed down, shorter travel version of the Jekyll, and goes under the company’s new ‘cross-mountain’ category. Using a new Fox Dyad 2 shock with a shorter eye-to-eye, shorter stroke and smaller air capacity, the Trigger has 120mm travel in Flow mode and 70mm in Elevate.

Sharing much of the technology first seen on the 150/90mm Jekyll launched two years ago, the Trigger gets the same bolt-through ECS-T configuration that clamps the swingarm to the front triangle with double row cartridge bearings for massive centre stiffness.

Three models will be available, each sharing the same Ballistic carbon frame. Weight for the top-draw Ultimate is pegged at around 10kg.

Slotting into the 1.5in head tube is a brand new 130mm Lefty fork.
Other important details? The head angle is 69 degrees in Elevate mode, 68 in Flow. The bottom bracket height is 33cm.

Build kits will include 2×10 drivetrains, Enve carbon wheels on the top-end bike and Reynolds AM carbon wheelsets – a noticeable highlight of the spec.
