Mavic Introduces Tubeless Wheels

Running at the same time as the NORBA downhill and XC race, Mammoth Mountain always has a mini-trade expo show, where many manufacturers choose to release mid-season product. Mavic chose this race to release a tubeless version of the Crossmax wheelset.

The Crossmax UST wheels and tires are a collaboration between Mavic and tyre manufacturer Hutchinson, and weigh about the same as the standard Crossmax wheel and tyre set up. They’ve changed the design of the rim and nipples too for better strength, durability and (we expect) easier build up.

UPDATE: Apparently the spokes are aluminium!
