The 650B bandwagon continues to gather pace, this time with the news that RockShox have introduced 27.5″ versions of their SID and Reba forks.
Rather than re-label a 26 or 29-inch fork, RockShox insist the 650B SID and Reba forks, which both have 120mm of travel, have a chassis optimised for the medium wheel size, with a specific crown offset, unique crown clearance and dedicated lower legs.
The SID is RockShox’s cross-country fork and the updated model retains the Superlight Integrated Design structure combined with a 15mm Maxle Lite option and tapered steerer, which RockShox say creates a chassis which is both stiff and light.
It will be available in four models: the RL and RLT (with PushLoc remote option), XX with the hydraulic XLoc remote, and the three-position RCT3.
Meanwhile, the 650B Reba looks to continue the fork’s legacy of reliability and will be available in two damping models, the RL and RLT, with optional cable-actuated PushLoc lock-out remote.
Both models will begin to appear in the shops from December 2012 and are expected to retail for between €653-707 for the SID 27.5″ and €536 for the Reba 27.5″. UK prices are to be confirmed.
