Tomac have unveiled their revamped 2012 product range, with a big push towards 29ers .
Big wheels are making in-roads at every manufacturer and Tomac, who have signed a UK distribution deal with Evolution Imports, are no different, with the Flint 29er among next year’s highlights.
The frame has shed 300g to bring the overall weight down to 1400g. Flint features include custom butted top, down and seat tubes, triple water bottles mounts and the capability to go single speed or geared.
“The Flint 29er is only slightly heavier than most companies carbon hardtails yet we will be selling this frame for only £420 retail so we are expecting big orders,” said Mark Pearce from Evolution Imports.
Meanwhile, the carbon Type X 29er hardtail weighs just 1.1kg for a medium frameset and will be available in the New Year, priced at £1,499.
The Type X is designed for an 80 or 100mm travel fork, with CNC aluminum dropouts and brake bridge, short chain stays and a longer front end, and with dual water bottles on all size frames.
“Tomac fits superbly with our business and by adding new exciting brands such as Carbon-Ti components from Italy, will complement our Chris King offering,” said Pearce. “As we are moving into pre-built wheels with King hubs we will be busy in the coming months working with the likes of HED and Reynolds as well as DT and Stans.”
Joel Smith from Tomac added: “We are very happy to have Evolution on board as our UK distributor, they’ve done a great job with their previous brands and with our growth plans for the future we look forward to many years of supplying a very strong line of products to UK customers.”
