Now here’s an interesting wee vid. Ex-pro downhill and 4X racer Eric Carter is part of SR Suntour’s R+D department and here he is putting the company’s new Auron fork through its paces on some dry and dusty US trails. It’s got all the right numbers so we’re excited to see how the fork fares when put to the test. Oh, and it’s only for 27.5″ wheels… a sign of SR Suntour’s opinion on the ‘optimum’ size for enduro.
Auron Vitals
Travel: 120-160mm
Spring: Air
Wheel size: 27.5″
Materials: Magnesium lowers
Internals: Sealed hydraulic cartridge
Stanchions: 34mm
Axle: 15mm ‘Loc2’
If you’re wondering what bike Eric’s riding in the vid, it’s made by Hyper Bike Co (a BMX race bike manufacturer) – which Eric is the product manager for MTB – and we reckon it looks pretty darned nice too. Hyper are clearly pushing into the MTB industry as they also sponsor Rampage/freeride hero Cam Zink so we look forward to hearing more about their plans for the bike.
