Rough Ride Guide has launched a new range of compact loose-leaf MTB route guides based on its existing A4-format bumper guides. Each of the four titles, dubbed the “In and around” series, includes between 17 and 20 routes. They’re all from the larger guides (South West and South East) but in a handier (and cheaper) format.

The new guides still follow the popular loose-leaf/ring binder format, though, so you can take route cards out for a ride or add more – “expansion packs” with an additional 17-20 routes are available for all four guides. All the routes have OS mapping, detailed instructions, vital local information, route profiles and short-cut/bail out options. They’re printed on water-resistant paper, but the guides come with a plastic sleeve to put individual pages in for added protection.

The four books are The Chilterns, North and South Downs, Exmoor and Dartmoor and Wiltshire and Dorset. They’re £10.95 each, with the extra route packs priced at £5.95. There’s a special pre-Christmas offer for Bikemagic readers, though – you can get an A5 book with an expension pack for just £12.95 (saving £3.90, if our maths is correct).
