German light manufacturer Lupine has never been one to do things by halves, a quality that is apparent with its latest release, the Lupine Tesla.
The 700 lumen output from a single Seoul Z-Power P7 LED emitter belies the diminutive size of the light, while its equally small 4.5Ah Li-ion battery will provide three hours of burn time on full power. Three levels of brightness allow stretching out of the the battery life, while a flashing mode will stretch it even further if you’re mainly interested in being seen on the road.
A V9 PCS (Power Control System) switch on the rear of the light unit allows switching through the available light settings, and remains illuminated for easy location during night riding. This switch also acts as a low-battery warning by changing colour.
Beam angle is 13° which should give a good spread of light, and is ideally suited to helmet mounted riding – the kit comes with the necessary gubbins to mount to a helmet or handlebars. The total weight is a claimed 320g.
And the asking price? £299.
