A durable, sleek and long lasting “be seen” light.
Price: £12.99 (or £21.99 for the front and back pair)
What they say: Combining a stylish engineered-alloy body with up to 60 hours of battery life, the Lezyne Femto Drive lights pack a punch that is more powerful than their 15 lumens would suggest.
What it is: Continuing the American manufacturer’s history of truly eye-catching design, the Femto Drive lights feature a brushed engineered alloy body, which comes in seven different colours, and a durable rubber strap. The strap’s clip mechanism is especially simplistic, quick and easy to operate even with the most cumbersome of winter gloves on.
Whilst not as powerful as some of Lezyne’s more expensive options, the Femto Drive lights are not designed for road illumination. Their four settings of various tempos of flashing are likely to get you spotted on the road. They also comply with European CEN standard, meaning they are suitable for riding on the Continent, especially those Alpine tunnels where gendarme often lurk.
The Femto Drive lights take one CR2032 watch battery which puts out 60 hours worth of light in the flashing states and around 30 hours worth on the solid setting. Despite the 15 lumens output on the front light and 7 lumens on the back, the lights are easily visible from up to 300 metres away.
Operating the light is particularly easy, just holding down the rubberised lens for a couple of seconds turns the light on and off and adjusts the flashing tempo.
The Lezyne Femto Drive LED lights are going to look good on just about any handlebars or seat posts to which they are attached. For this kind of light and at the sub-£30 price range it really is difficult to find a better value and better looking set of bike lights.
Who it’s for: The Lezyne Femto Drive lights are really suitable for any kind of bike and any kind of riding where riders want to increase their visibility on the road; these lights are ideal for dusk or dawn riding and city commuting.
