Heart rate monitor specialists Polar launched the FT7 back in 2009 but for 2011 have updated the range with a new-look model.

Hold your breath; the FT7 is now available in two snazzy colour combinations. There’s black and red for the men reading this article and for women a stylish red and silver. Though are we wrong to prefer the women’s option?

Inside the FT7 are such clever features as EnergyPointer, which tells the user if the main effect of their training is fitness improvement or burning fat be indicating if you’re in the right heart rate zone for fat burning or improving aerobic fitness.

The FT7 also displays the amount of calories burned while training and, with the optional Polar FlowLink, it’s easy to download all your riding data.
