Tasty energy bars?

Energy bars have a pretty poor reputation when it comes to edibility. Sure, they’re all very clever with their carefully-formulated ingredients and scientific wotsittage, but if you can’t actually bring yourself to eat the things it’s all for nowt…

Torq Bars are intended to change all that. They’re the brainchild of Matt Hart, top banana at Torq Performance Consultancy. We’ve got some Sundried Banana and Tangy Apricot ones here, that claim “Moist and Chewy” on the wrapper and certainly deliver. They’re very nearly in the realms of something you’d eat because you just fancy a snack.

Again, it’s no good something being tasty if it doesn’t pack a decent nutritional punch. After all, beer is tasty but it only makes you faster in your head. Torq Bars have lots of good things in them (carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals) and not many bad things (fat). So far we’ve just nibbled at them sitting at a desk, and it’s hard to tell if they’ve made us type faster – full report when we’ve had a chance to use them to keep us from grovelling the last third of an epic bike ride…
