Nature’s Kiss is, we’re told, a household name in New Zealand, and the range of herbal action sports rubs is now available in the UK through Active Life Logistics. Wondering what an “action sports rub” is? The range is a load of different things in pots that you rub on various parts of yourself to achieve different results. For example, the Hotstuff cream is a warm-up balm – racing in shorts on a nippy day? Rub some of this on to your legs and it forms a warming layer and stops your muscles going all cold and rubbish.

Enduro riders will probably be particularly interested in Chafe-Ease, which in true Ronseal style does just what it says on the pot. Then there’s Activate, a kind of mellower warm-up cream; Recovery, again, fairly self-explanatory; and a promising-sounding Anti-Flamme to relieve aches and pains. What sets Nature’s Kiss apart from other similar products is their use of herbal extracts and essential oils.

By a happy coincidence we’re doing a 12-hour race this weekend, so we’ll have a chance to see how some of the creams perform. Primarily Chafe-Ease and Anti-Flamme, we’d imagine…
