BM’s Advent Calendar – December 2

(Click to reveal)

Tullio Campagnolo didn’t just invent the wheel quick release. In 1966 a stubborn cork led him to design a corkscrew with a telescopic self-aligning cover to ensure optimum screw alignment. It’s also got high-leverage arms and a carefully-profiled screw. More importantly, it’s very, very cool. It’s kind of expensive, but there can be no better Christmas gift for the wine-loving cyclist. If you’re looking for something a little cheaper (and smaller – this is a big corkscrew) take a look at the Campagnolo Miro – essentially the same design but smaller.

About £100, Campagnolo
