Towards the end of last year we reviewed Max Darkins’s Rough Ride Guide: South East route guide, a hefty ring-bound tome containing a substantial haul of 50 routes covering Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Oxfordshire, Hampshire, Surrey and both Sussexes. Oh, and the Isle of Wight. Not to mention a wealth of extra background information. The book/binder/however you wish to describe it is £24.95, and there’s an optional comprehensive maintenance section for an extra fiver, but at the time Max was running a special BM reader offer which got you the maintenance pages free when you bought the book.
