We’ve pontificated, discussed and chin-scratched our way through the entries for our Dirt Worker competition and the rather fine pic above is hereby officially declared the winner. It’s from Magnus Rabarts and shows his Santa Cruz V10 after a run at Rheola in Wales. Not just filthy, but arty too – a worthy winner. Keeping with the bike-cleaning theme, a rummage around the office revealed a couple of Muc-Off Race Kits including a bottle of Muc-Off, Bike Spray and a handy brush’n’sponge combo. So we’ve got a couple of runners-up too:

On the left we have a fine contribution from Mike Ayles, and on the right a pic from Jeff Antram of his wife (who we know only as Mrs Antram, although we’re sure she has a first name) after 14 solo laps of the legendarily gloopy SITS course this year. Handy Muc-Off packs to both.

What’s a Dirt Worker, anyway?

The Dirt Worker is a jolly clever bit of kit that falls firmly into the “why didn’t I think of that?” camp. It’s a self-contained portable pressure washer, and just the thing for anyone who puts their bike in the car to ride. Fill the built-in water tank, stash the Worker in the boot of your car and go ride. When you get back, plug the Dirt Worker into your car’s lighter socket, connect the hose and spray the fresh dirt off your bike. It hasn’t got the oomph to shift dried-on stuff, but it won’t blast all the grease out of your bearings either.
