Ford’s new S-MAX has been voted 2007 Car of the Year, and what with it being a handy tool to transport people and bikes around in thanks to its innovative multi-functional interior and fold-flat seats, Ford has teamed up with Marin to celebrate by giving away two new full suspension bikes.
The S-MAX is designed for maximum flexibility with up to seven seats. Pack in the kids, your friends for a weekend away or a couple of bikes. The CotY judges were impressed by the drive, too. Amongst a host of gizmos, the S-MAX has (optional) Interactive Vehicle Dynamics Control (IVDC) with Continuously Controlled Damping, a modern suspension layout with Normal, Sport or Comfort settings and sporty steering.
It’s also got Bluetooth gubbinses to talk to your phone, and the CD player, radio and climate control can all be voice-controlled. And Euro NCAP have awarded it 36 points and a maximum five-star rating for adult occupant safety, beating every other car in its class.

The two Marin bikes up for grabs are the big-hitting Quake XLT and the new women’s specific Alpine Trail. The Alpine Trail runs the new-for-2007 Quad XC linkage suspension system mounted to a hydroformed mainframe with plenty of standover height and unique swoopy looks.
