You might never have heard of Bergamont before, but in Germany they’ve been producing bikes for over 15 years. Their range consists of road, trekking, urban and children’s bikes, as well as MTBs.
The MTB range is pretty all-encompassing, covering most styles of riding. Information is a little thin on the ground at the moment, as Riding High UK, the UK importers, have only just started bringing the bikes into the country. There’s no prices either, but we’ll update you when they become available.
Enduro
The Enduro is the company’s 150mm travel, linkage actuated single pivot built bike built around a 1.5” head tube. There’s currently two versions available, both sharing a 160mm RockShox Lyric fork.
Threesome
Stepping down the travel ladder, the Threesome offers 130mm from a similar suspension design to the longer travel Enduro. The shock is mounted to the underside of the top tube instead of the downtube though, allowing space for a bottle cage.
Evolve Team
With 100mm of single pivot travel, the Evolve is intended for race and marathon usage. Ultra light butted tubing, racy geometry and a light finishing kit make its intentions clear.
Team DH
A whopping 230mm of travel from the linkage activated suspension makes the Team DH a prime choice for tough world cup level downhill courses. Manitou Travis forks, Hayes HFX9 stoppers, Truvativ Hussefelt and SRAM X0 parts complete the package.
Big Air Team
The Bullit-esque Big Air Team is the company’s freeride package. Single pivot, 170mm travel, RockShox Totem 2-Step air forks – makes this a versatile bike.
Kiez Pro
One for the 4X riders, the Kiez is race ready from the box.
Gearbox bike
Lastly, the company’s as-yet-unnamed gearbox bike. Information is a little scare at the moment, we’ll find out more at Eurobike later this month. We do know that it’ll have 185mm of travel and uses a Suntour gearbox, and be available as a complete bike or as a frameset.
The bikes will be imported by Riding High UK. Check out www.bergamont.de for the full range.
