Torq energy products feel like they’ve been around for ever, but a quick look back through the archives reveals that its first product – the actually-rather-tasty Torq Bar – was launched in 2003. Torq’s come a long way in only a few years, and now has a sizable (going on vast) range of performance-assisting nutritional products. Not to mention the highly-visible (it’s an orange thing…) race team, RV and so on.
The use of natural ingredients has always been at the centre of Torq’s philosophy, with all of its stuff notable for a lack of artificial sweeteners, colourings or other mysterious substances. Now it’s taken things one step further with the launch of what is, as far as we know, the first certified organic energy drink on the market.
The organic product is a variant of Torq’s unflavoured Energy Natural powder. With the emphasis on natural ingredients, not much had to be changed to make it fully organic – it’s derived from an organic maize crop but is described as “functionally identical”. The hard part, we’re told, was actually getting the Soil Association Organic Standard certification that allows Torq to put the relevant symbol on the packaging. Apparently there’s quite a lot of paperwork involved…
Torq Energy Organic is available in 500g, 1.5kg, 3kg, 5kg and 10kg tubs at the same prices as the “standard” (and still available) unflavoured powder. Find out more at www.torqfitness.co.uk.
