There’s a small, but increasing desire for custom made to measure frames, and with titanium prices continuing to fall, there’s more choice than ever for a custom ti frame.

Doing exactly that is Burls, which has been offering custom frames for around ten years. Much of that time has been spent making steel frames right here in Britain, but more recently it’s started designing titanium frames, getting them built in Russia.

While the company is primarily road-orientated, they certainly cater for MTBers, as the picture of a customer’s 29er above shows. And with prices starting at £950 for a full custom-designed frame, with a reputation for custom service and a high level of quality, maybe it’s time to get that dream frame built up…
