Never far from the limelight – we get the feeling that Nicolas Vouilloz just can’t seem to hang up his MTB shoes just yet – the Frenchman has signed a three-year contract with BOS Engineering to develop a new range of suspension components.

BOS may not be a familiar name, but during the 90s Vouilloz and Olivier Bossard began working together, with Bossard designing the Sunn bikes that Vouilloz successfully piloted to many race victories. The pair later worked together when Vouilloz launched his own brand of Bossard-designed V Process bikes.

After a brief pause while Vouilloz went in search of rally car success, BOS launched upgrade kits for forks in 2005, and last year a rear shock. With them now back working together though, BOS will launch an all-new DH fork with other models to follow in due course. Vouillaz of course won’t be taking a passive role, but will be heavily involved in the development from the groundup. We can’t wait to see the end product.

How Vouilloz and Bossard came to be working together again is interesting in itself, with the press release stating, “A few weeks ago, Nico got his old 2002 BOS factory forks and shocks out from the back of his garage and tinkered about with them to see if they would go on his Lapierre just as an experiment. Even with five-year old oil and their old-school geometry, they both worked.”
